We’re making a new record. It’s going to be called “Black Music.” Here’s the track listing:

  1. Lipstick Colony
  2. Make Sure It Hurts
  3. I’ve Got Friends
  4. Losing My Nerve (+ video)
  5. Bonus track: Make Sure It Hurts – Le Concorde Kick Mix
We’ve been working with producer/mixer/engineer Mark Needham (The Killers, My Chemical Romance, Neon Trees) for the past couple of months. Stephen Becker AKA Le Concorde also lent some production and awesome programming to “Lipstick Colony,” in addition to remixing “Make Sure It Hurts.” Another Steve (Hall) of Future Disc did the mastering.

There’s an old recording industry saying–”If it ain’t perfect, it’s a demo.” While we already had pretty good recordings of all of these songs, we wanted to have them be the best they could possibly be. So we re-tracked many of the parts, added some new ones, and had all the songs re-mixed. We wanted a perfect representation of our sound, and these 4 songs are it.
That’s also why the record is called “Black Music.” The songs on this record are the best 4 songs we’ve written, and they perfectly epitomize the kind of music we want to make. So why not just make a self-titled record? Because “Listen To Black Music” is a provocative catch phrase, silly goose.
